Ms. Audrey Dale Hensley Cox, 55 of Blackshear, passed away Thursday evening (February 24, 2011) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center.
Born in Blackshear on July 24, 1955, Ms. Cox had lived there most of her life. She had worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for several years before ill health forced her to retire. Ms. Cox attended University Boulevard Church of God and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Ms. Cox was a daughter of the late Joe Mike, Sr. & Annie Belle Smith Hensley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Phillip Hensley, Sr.
Survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & Jonathan Holton of Alma; a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Jean Counts of Blackshear; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Nellie Faye Hanson of Brunswick, Mary Ann Walker of Alma, Josie Gill of Waycross and Nancy & Donnie Burney of Blackshear; a brother, Joe Mike Hensley, Jr. of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Jonathan Holton, Jr., Stephanie Holton, Christopher Counts, Brandon Counts and Haley Counts and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Visitation for Ms. Cox will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services for Ms. Cox will be held today, Monday afternoon, February 28, 2011, at 3:00 o'clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery.
