Ralph Edgar Ardrey, born on March 17, 1918 in Stafford, KS, went to be with his Lord on August 19, 2005 in Albuquerque. He passed away peacefully at home in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Roy Ardrey and Mary M. Ardrey of Stafford, KS; brothers, Harold Ardrey and Merle Ardrey of Stafford, KS, and Warren Ardrey of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Phyllis Ardrey of Stafford, KS; son, Lance Alan Ardrey of Newport, AR; and son-in-law, Brent Marshall of Rio Rancho, NM. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jessie Luella Ardrey of the home; daughters, LuAnn Marpel and husband, Dwight and their children, Brian and Stacey of Albuquerque; Lynda Gompert and husband, Kent and their son, Jordan of Surprise, AZ; Judy Marshall and her children, Stephanie and Emily of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter-in-law, Marion Ardrey and her children, Justin, Jessica, and Jacob of Newport, AR; and his sister, Lois Archer, of Austin, TX. Mr. Ardrey was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army HQ Battery 37th Field Artillery Battalion and later with the US Army Reserve. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ, serving as an elder and a deacon at the Netherwood Park Church of Christ in Albuquerque. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, August 25, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Netherwood Park Church of Christ, 5101 Indian School Rd. NE. Internment will be at the Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Memorials may be made to the Netherwood Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.
