Minnie was the daughter of Nora Thomas and Minnie Ponder. She was educated in the Houston County School System. She was a Member of Oak Level Missionary Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia. She retired from the Days Inn Hotel Chain.
She was married Johnny B. Bryant, who preceded her in death, for 64 years.

7 Daughters: Ruby Grimes(Sam), Della Worthy(Mitchell), Arlene Bryant, Virginia Williams, Lillie Harmon, Linda Davis(Charles) and Brenda Hamlin(Herman).
