Gus was born in Malchow, Kreis Maritz, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. He immigrated to Texas in 1883 or 1884 with his mother, Auguste Caroline Sophie Elisabeth Engel Mussyal, and two sisters, Louise Marie Elsie Wilhelmine (Engel) and Anna Fredrike Caroline Mussyal, to Brenham, Washington Co., Texas.
He married Martha E. Herzog on September 07, 1898 in Sandy Hill, Washington Co., Texas. They had 10 children. The family moved to Wellston, Oklahoma about 1914 or 1915 to farm wheat, as they did in Germany. On New Year's day, 1948, he was shoveling snow and had a massive heart attack. He apparently suffered a convultion and his teeth and glasses were thrown from his body. They were not found until after the snow melted in the Spring. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear all Earlier this moth the church records of Germany went online on Ancestry.com. His father Georg Theodor was a chimney sweep master at Schwerin 1877. So I had a look at the birth records of the Dom church and found it. He was born 4 October 1875 in Schwerin and christened 26 October his name is Gustav Christof Paul.
