Anna Barbara Eaker, dau. of Hans Peter and Anna Barbara Eaker (q.v. Eckert), was bapt. Dec. 23, 1749 at Millbach Reformed Lutheran Church, Lancaster County, now Mill Creek Twp, Lebanon County, PA. [*1]

When and under what circumstances Anna Barbara migrated to North Carolina remains unknown. By 1771 Anna m. 1) Johann Nicholas Warlick and had five children b. either at Rutherford or Lincoln County, NC. Johann was a Captain of a British militia unit during the American Rev. War and d. June 20, 1780 at the Battle of Ramsour's Mill north of Lincolnton, NC.

By late 1781, Anna Barbara m. 2) John Hildebrand, s. of George Michael Hildebrand and Anna Zimmerman, b. Feb. 12, 1755 at or near New Holland, Earl Twp., Lancaster County, PA. They had the following five children all b. in North Carolina:

• i. Michael Hildebrand, b. circa June 1781, d, 1863 in the Canadian District of the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, now Muskogee County, OK; m. 1) circa 1800 the Cherokee Nancy "Nannie" Martin, dau. of Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Martin, Jr. and Elizabeth "Betsey" Ward. She d. in 1837. Michael m. 2) Lucy, a non-Cherokee, who died before June 1860. Twelve children, all by his 1st wife.

• ii. Peter Hildebrand, b. May 10, 1782, d. Dec. 11, 1851 at Flint Creek in the Delaware District of the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, now Delaware County, OK; m. circa 1808 at now extinct town of Columbus, TN, the Cherokee Elizabeth Harlan, dau. of Ellis Harlan and Ka-Ti Kingfisher, b. Aug. 15, 1793. She d. Sept. 19, 1826 in the Cherokee Nation East, now southeastern Tennessee. Ten children of the family.

• iii. George Hildebrand, b. circa 1786-87, d. aft. June 1860 prob. in the Delaware District of the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory; m. 1) Susanna Diana Graves and 2) the Cherokee Dah-ya-ni. Fourteen children of the family.

• iv. Sarah Hildebrand, b. Nov. 26, 1788; had three Cherokee husbands: 1) Culstee, 2) Black Coat and 3) Young Wolf. Five children. Not much is known about Sarah, but "Young Wolf" by his mark, one of the Cherokee Chiefs and headmen, signed the so-called Dearborn Treaty of January 1806 that created the provision for the grist mill operated by Sarah's father, and "Young Wolf" by his mark also signed the Treaty of Sept. 14, 1816 recognizing the western boundary of the Cherokee Nation East.

• v. John Hildebrand, Jr., b. aft. Apr 1790, d. Mar. 27, 1814 as a Private in Col. Gideon Morgan's Cherokee Regiment during the decisive Battle of Horseshoe Bend in southern Alabama during the Creek War (1813-4); m. the Cherokee Micatiah Terrapin, by whom he had one child, dau. Elizabeth. In 1819 Elizabeth was placed under guardianship of Col. Gideon Morgan.
