DROWNED IN THE LABONTE

Two sons of Mr. Lee French, a LaBonte ranchman, aged 9 and 13 years, were drowned early yesterday morning. They were together at the time and no one saw the accident; but from tracks found it is apparent that they were standing on a high bank overlooking the stream which caved in and precipitated them into the water. The creek is usually high, and whether dazed by their fall or unable to swim can only be conjectured. They were to have joined their father in the field and when they did not appear he went to the house, where the mother told him they had started. Search for their trail showed where they had gone into the water, and the body of one was found a short distance below and later the other was recovered farther down.

The funeral will be held here from the Methodist church, at 2 o'clock this afternoon--the interment to be in Sunnyside cemetery.

The bereaved parents have the heartfelt sympathy of all who know them.
