Rose A. Howell, 66, formerly of Milan, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at her daughter's home in Tulsa, Okla.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with a rosary recited at 5 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John's Hospice, Tulsa, Okla.

Rose was born April 23, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Lyle and Elizabeth "Lib" Milder Frantz. She married Aaron Howell Oct. 17, 1959, in Hills, Iowa. He died Oct. 2, 1986.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and collecting figurines.

Survivors (and spouses) are daughters, Sharon (Mark) Howell, St. Augustine, Fla., and Kathryn (James) Harman, Tulsa, Okla.; sons, Logan Howell, Elkridge, Md., and Lee Howell, Kimberly, Wis.; grandchildren, Patricia and Nicholas Howell and Samantha Harman; sisters, Marilyn (William) Kruse, Wapelo, Iowa, and Rita (Steve) Decker, Iowa City; brothers, Joseph (Mary) Frantz, Riverside, Iowa, David (Rita) Frantz, Iowa City, and John (Sherry) Frantz, Hills, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
