James G. Elwer, 84, passed away February 20, 2011. Mr. Elwer was born February 7, 1927 in Lima, Ohio. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a self-employed, sheet metal building contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto William Elwer and Dorothy Susan Federick, and by his wife, Marisa Bettucii.

He is survived by a son, Marco Elwer; daughter, Debbie Narey; three grandsons, Robert D. Stevens, Adam Elwer and Ryan Elwer, and a special friend, Brenda Johnson.

James was one of 12 children, including his sisters and brothers, Gertrude, Helen, Ursula, Rose Mary, Dolores, Joan, Gale, Lea and Doris Ann, Omer and Federick.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, at 2 p.m., in the Tara Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park with Military honors.

The family will receive friends at the Tara Chapel on Wednesday, February 23, from 5 to 8 p.m.
