Graveside services for Irene L. Brame of McMinnville will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in McMinnville. The Rev. Jim Peterson will officiate.
Mrs. Brame died in the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005. She was 92.
Born in Goodland, Mo., on Feb. 24, 1913, she was the daughter of Francis Marion and Laura Ann (Sumpter) Crocker. She married Alvah E. Brame in Van Buren, Mo., on April 28, 1935.
They moved to Tillamook in 1946. They spent the next 16 years in the Oregon communities of Tillamook, Coos Bay, Grants Pass and Winston before moving back to Missouri in 1962.
Mrs. Brame and her husband returned to Coos Bay after his retirement. He died in 1993 and she moved to McMinnville in 1995.
A lifelong homemaker, she kept journals as a child and always enjoyed reading and writing. After moving to Oregon she wrote two books about her childhood.
She liked working crossword puzzles, reading Christian books and reading the Bible. She belonged to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by five sons, Wayne of McMinnville, Colin "Keith" of Bend, Gary of Winston and Roger and Rodney of Patterson, Ill.; two daughters, Judith Boehm of La Quinta, Calif. and Peggy Martin of Roseburg; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brame was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Crocker; four sisters, Blanche Crocker, Della Overy, Grace Hatridge and Marjorie "Peg" Cullen; and a granddaughter.
