Joyce and her twin sister Margaret were born in L'Orignal in 1850. The various census returns over the years show them still living at home. The family home was left to them when their father died in 1895. It is presumed that Joyce died between 1901 and 1911, as she is not listed in the later Census. There is no headstone on the family plot.
