Lambert Darland, Low Dutch, born in Somerset Co., NJ, member of Reformed Dutch Church Community,Berkeley Co, VA/WVA, went to Jefferson Co, Ky in 1780 with parents John and Catherine Van LIew. After death of father that fall, hereturned to the Reformed Dutch Community at Conewago with a Petition to the Continental Congress in 1783, married Marretie/ Mathey Van Arsdale, dau. of John and Eleanor Vanarsdale in York Co., PA. ca. 1789, removed to Bourbon/Mercer/Anderson Co's Kentucky in 1790, Marthey died Anderson Co., KY in 26 Oct. 1826, Ch: John, Isaac, Abraham, Gerret and Catherine. Married (2) Mary Carter. Lambert, Isaac, Abraham and families removed to Parke Co., IN with the Smock family, among first settlers of the area, establishing the Todd Cemetery, located on high hill or area over looking the Little Raccoon Creek. FAmilies lived in Washington and Green Twp.'s; Legal Description is: Green Twp, Parke Co. SW 1/4, SW 1/4, Sect. 18. This cemetery is location on a farm and contains 30-40 graves, the Headstones are missing. Driving directions; Rt. 236 to Judson Sign, turn on gravel Road to what was the farm of William and Martha Baird, You need to obtain permission of the farmer. Cross a farm lot, go under the RR tressel Bridge, cross the creek and climb a large hill. Abraham's stone was in line with an electric pole in the middle of a flat area. Most stones are under the ground, his is leaning up against the pole. Buried here are Lambert and his wife Mary, Abraham, Isaac, Darland children, members of the Reynolds family of Rebecca and her sister Alsey and many others. There were only two stones left, Abrahams, leaning up against the pole and the Smock stone.
