John Franklin Oliver, 82, of Boone, died Thursday, October 11 at the home of his son Luther, also of Boone.
Mr. Oliver was born in Watauga County and was a retired farmer.
Surviving are five sons, three daughters, 39 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Ocotber 13 at Union Baptist Church by Reverends Dayton Jones and C. O. Vance. Burial was in the church cemetery.
