Marjorie May Nelson, 95, of Alvin, TX, formally of Lake Charles, past away 7:30 PM, February 22, 2011 in her residence.

Mrs. Nelson was a native and life long resident of Lake Charles prior to moving to Alvin, TX several years ago. She was a member of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church in Lake Charles and at the time of her death was a member of First United Methodist Church in Alvin. Mrs. Nelson was a member of the United Methodist Women's Club and Embroidery Club and a member of the Eastern Star and Order of Amaranth.

She is survived by four children, Bill Nelson and wife Shirley, Betty Jo Lee and husband Delma, Earnest Nelson and Wife Elzada, and Janan Devasier; eleven grandchildren, twenty great grand children, and eight great great grandchildren; and her brother Ray Boudreaux. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward E. Nelson Sr.

Her funeral will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Henry Bowdon Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 till 8 PM, Friday, and continue from 9AM till time of service in the funeral home.
