Funeral services for Margie Yearwood, 81, of Eakly were held Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eakly Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ed Moody and Rev. Ron Thiessen officiating.
Margie was born September 24, 1922 in Anthony, Kansas to Sidney and Mary (Johnson) Clinton and died Saturday, February 14, 2004 in Weatherford.
She and Glen Raymond (Beck) Yearwood were united in marriage on April 14, 1940 near Colony. She was a long time member of the Eakly Assembly of God Church where she was active for many years prior to her stroke and health problems. She had taught the youth class, also the women's Sunday School classes, played the organ and helped whenever needed. She was an Avon representative for the area several years and wrote the Eakly news for the local paper. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and cooking. Margie continued to attend church faithfully until she went to the nursing home three months ago. Beck lovingly assisted and cared for his wife the past thirteen years. Her faith and love for the Lord and her family sustained her through her years of illness.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond (Beck) of the home; one daughter, Patricia Dunn and husband, Ray of Moore; four sons, Max Yearwood and wife Sue, Jim Yearwood and wife, Barbara all of Eakly, Randy Yearwood of Lawton and Jay Yearwood of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Mark Yearwood of Weatherford, Denise McCuistion of Altus, Jennifer Wyatt of Guthrie, Cory Yearwood of Anadarko and Steven Yearwood of Binger; one sister, Edith Aileen Clothier od Clinton and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and one sister.
Burial was in the Eakly Cemetery under the direction of the Binger-Hackney Funeral Home.
