Mrs. John Smack Dies At Eakly
Funeral services for Mrs. John Smack were held in the Eakly Methodist church Tuesday, Sept. 14, by Rev. L.W. Skaggs and Rev. A.F. Heusel with burial in the Eakly cemetery.
Elizabeth McCann Smack was born in Soldier City, Kansas, July 19, 1872, and died Sept. 11, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Brooks, in Houston, Texas at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 23 days.
She was united in marriage to John Smack in 1889 and to this union seven children were born. Mr. Smack and three children preceded her in death. They lived near Eakly for a number of years. She was a faithful Christian and united with the church while young.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Cora Klusmeyer of Eakly, Mrs. Hazel Brooks of Houston, Mrs. Cleo Fuller and Mrs. Frances Vencent of South gate, Calif.; one brother, Jim McCann, eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
