RUSHVILLE - William H. Arthur, 88, died at his home Monday, Jan. 8, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville, with Father Tim Stoner officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Bill was born March 9, 1918, in Clearwater, Neb. to William George and Josephine (Sand) Arthur. He attended the Sunny Knoll Country School and St. Mary's Academy.
He married Dorothy Stephens Oct. 22, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a farmer and rancher until his death. Bill also drove the Northwest Community Action Council Handi-Bus for 25 years. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He served in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945.
Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to fish and spend time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Sharon and husband Ron Hoffman, Deb and husband Dana Cadwallander both of Bayard; son, William Arthur of Rushville; grandchildren, Michaela, Sarah and Jacob Hoffman, Kris Serbousek, Melissa Rupp, Kendra Cadwallader, Nick Jansen, Matthew and Nicole Jansen and William Arthur III; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann VanKerrebrook of Gordon and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Dorothy; infant son, James; sisters and brothers, Ed Arthur, Herman Arthur, Esther Thomas and Clara VanKerrebrook.
