Billie Gene Cheser, age 78, of Willisburg, passed away at 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. A native of Washington County, he was born on June 11, 1932, to the late William H. and Evangeline Foster Cheser. He was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a 1950 graduate of Willisburg High School and a retired farmer. Preceding him in death was a son, Tony Cheser on May 30, 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Cooksey Cheser; a daughter, Connie G. Cheser of Bardstown; a son, Terry Cheser and his wife, Susan of Nicholasville; four grandchildren, Jessica Livers and her husband, Jason, Corey Lacefield, Jacqueline Hedgecock and Jennifer Lynn Cheser; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Lyvers and Madison Lyvers; a brother, Bobby Cheser and his wife, Mary of Willisburg; and two sisters, Eldora Akin and her husband, Herman of Willisburg and Jane Cropper and her husband, David of Tompkinsville.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Hatfield, pastor of the Willisburg Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Serving as pallbearers were Corey Lacefield, Larry Cheser, Roger Cheser, Danny Akin, Greg Cropper and David Hardin. Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
