She was born December 30, 1924 in Danville, the daughter of Floyd and Harriet L. Nash Knowles.
She married Merle R. Balsley on May 24, 1972 in Redwood City, CA. He survives.
Also surviving: one daughter, Carol Sefried Gordon Manchester of Eagan MN; two grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Manchester of Minneapolis MN, Eric Scott Manchester of Eagan MN; sister in law, Mary E. Knowles Bonebrake of Danville; three nieces, Marianne Monson, Jane Hall, Susan Day all of Danville and special friends, Mildred Kopp of Danville and Norma Russell of Frankfort, IN.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jack Knowles and a sister, Dolores Knowles Harrison.
Beverly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Private during WW2 and later worked as an administrator clerk for IL Bell telephone for several years. She then worked as an apartment manager in California.
She was a graduate of Danville High School.
She was a member of Lincoln United Methodist church of Danville and the United Methodist Woman Club. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star. She later became a member of Bethany of Fox Valley United Methodist Church in Aurora, IL. Beverly was a past President with 20 yrs of volunteer service with Sequoia Hospital Auxiliary of Redwood City, CA and The Edward Hospital of Naperville IL.
She loved Jazz music, travel and gardening. While raising her daughter Carol, she was an active Girl Scout leader.
