Dorothy Diane Pace, 66, Columbus Junction, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Per her wishes, her ashes will be scattered in the ocean at a later date. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in her name.

Mrs. Pace was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter of LeRoy O. and Edna R. (Cady) Dilley.

She attended Muscatine Community College, receiving an Associate of Science and Associate of Arts.

She married Lester G. Pace Jr. on March 4, 1972, in Las Vegas. She was a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Muscatine and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Lester, of Columbus Junction; her children, Velvet R. Hall and husband, Pat, of Columbus Junction, Dawn E. Grace and husband, Bill, of Muscatine, Harold "Gene" Pace of Wapello, William Robert Pace and wife, Jodi, of Ephrata, Pa., Lester G. Pace III and wife, Michelle, of West Branch, June L. Engle and husband, Dennis, of San Diego, Calif., and Mary E. Ernst and husband, Brian, of South Dakota; 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Sue Hurlbut and husband, Calvin, of Fredonia, Rose Gunther and husband, Ray, of California, Pat Lawson and husband, Dalton, of Seattle, Wash., Judy Arellano of Snoqualmie, Wash., Michael Dilley of California and Donna Dilley and her husband, Anthony, of Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Johnny and Marshall, and a sister, Carol DeVoe.
