Mrs. Stooksbury was born October 30, 1928 in Eastland, TN. She has lived in Oliver Springs since 1955.
She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother and a member of Beech Park Baptist Church.
She loved her cat and other animals, especially feeding and watching birds, she also enjoyed outdoor activities and working in the lawn.
Mrs. Stooksbury was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dovie Rice Scott, by sisters; Helen Comer and Hattie Ables and by brothers; Harvey and
Tom Scott.
She is survived by daughters; Sandra Gail Brown and husband, Johnny of Stockbridge, GA and Phyllis Ann Arp and husband, Jack of Harriman, by grandchildren; Jeffery Scott Brown of Jonesboro, GA, David Matthew Brown and wife, Kathryn of Lake City, GA and William Arp of Harriman.
She is also survived by a sister, Mickey Baker of Harriman, several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 25, 2011, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Sharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
