Oma first married Frank Moak on October 4, 1909 in Pulaski, Illinois. They were expecting their first child, when on September 3, 1910, Frank, who was an electrician, was working on high wires in Cairo, Illinois, and was electrocuted to death. Their son, Frank A Moak (Sr) was born the following March, 1911.
Oma later married Paul J Hurley on February 14, 1914 in Kankakee, Illinois. They went on to have four children: Velma, Macel, Opal and Paul Franklin.
