A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Colbert, for Jessie L. Curtis, 87, Durant, who died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. Norman Ford will officiate.

She was born Thursday, March 7, 1918, in Grayson County, Texas, to Albert Young and Eunice Reed/Hawkins. She married Daniel LeeRoy Curtis in December 1937 in Los Angeles, Calif. She came to Texoma in 1935 and came to Oklahoma many times over the years to see her friends and family. She retired with her husband in Colbert in 1978. She attended First Baptist Church in Colbert. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her sons Billy Dan Curtis and Edward Burl Curtis.

She is survived by her husband of the home; son Albert Curtis, Durant; grandsons Danny Curtis, San Francisco, Calif., Darin Curtis, San Diego, Calif., and Jesse Curtis, Durant; sister Dora McKee, Denison, Texas; great-grandchildren Dylan Curtis, El Cajon, Calif., Emma Curtis, Durant, and McKenzie Lea Curtis, El Cajon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Darin Curtis, Danny Curtis, Jesse Curtis, Keith Welch, Andrew Welch and Van Young.
