Earl A. Harden, 58, of 926 Independence Ave., died unexpectedly following a heart attack at 11:30 p. m. Thursday at his home.

The son of Elmer and Frances Harden, he was born July 21, 1897, in Waterloo. On April 12, 1926, he married Anna Frances Shafer at Independence.

For many years he was employed as a sheet metal worker at the Illinois Central Railroad, and more recently was employed at the Meyers Sheet Metal Works. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Warren of Bloomington, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Culbertson of Marshalltown; one granddaughter, and one brother, Clyde of 2105 Rownd St., Cedar Falls.

His parents and one sister preceded him in death. The body is at Locke Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements are pending.
