Mark Steven Bichelmeyer, 53, of De Soto, KS, passed away February 21, 2011 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 26, at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 820 Birch St., Eudora, KS. Burial will follow at De Soto Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2011 with the Visitation following until 8:30 p.m. at the De Soto Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the De Soto Masonic Lodge, the Holy Family Catholic Church, or the De Soto Baptist Church.
Mark was born December 19, 1957 in Kansas City, MO, to Leo A. and Mary L. (Billups) Bichelmeyer. He grew up in De Soto. Mark married Marietta Lynn Sanderson on February 28, 1975 in Kansas City, MO. He was a meat cutter for the Local Union in Kansas City, MO. Mark enjoyed golf and playing cards. Mark had a big heart and was blessed with a big family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, David. Mark is survived by his wife, Marietta, of the home; mother, Mary Dikeman, and husband, Richard, of De Soto; daughter, Heidi Melissa Capling and husband Gary, of Shawnee, KS; son Tony Lee Bichelmeyer and wife Emily, residing in Lima, Peru; brothers, Garry Bichelmeyer, of Tonganoxie, KS, Lee Bichelmeyer, of De Soto, and Matt Bichelmeyer, of Tonganoxie, KS; sisters, Linda Konitzer and Diana Luttrell, both of Spring Hill, KS; and six grandchildren.
