Death of Frank Schisler

Frank Schisler, the tailor, died at his home in this village on Monday, February 15th at 2:30 a.m., aged about 56 years. His health had been steadily failing during the past two years, having had several light strokes of paralysis. On the Wednesday before he died he had a severe shock and was unable to speak afterwards and gradually failed to the end.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock and were largely attended. The remains were laid to rest in the Blooming Prairie cemetery.

Frank Schisler was born in Bohemia, Austria, in 1848 and emigrated to the United States in the spring of 1874, coming first to Owatonna, where he lived until the fall of 1879, when he moved to Blooming Prairie village. He learned his trade and was married in the old country. He was a good, honest, upright citizen, a good husband and father and a good neighbor. He did well his part here and has gone to rest and reward sincerely mourned.

His family were all present at the funeral, as follows: Frank J. and John R., from Winthrop, Minn., Joseph, Vincent and Albert, of this village, Mrs. Mary Bruzek and husband, from Osage, Iowa. His widow survives him. A. Voelker, Esq., and wife, of Owatonna, were also in attendance at the funeral. Mrs. Voelker is a cousin of the widow.
