Griffin - George D. Durden Sr., 53, died Nov. 12, 1993, at the Augusta Regional Medical Center Burn Unit. The Bulloch County native was a U.S. Army veteran with 10 years service, one of which was in Germany. He was a self-employed painter and wallpaper hanger and was a member of the Brooklet First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, George Durden Jr., Germany; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Steven McDonald, Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Margie Brinson, Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Sara Jimmerson, Griffin; two brothers, John Durden Jr. of Rincon and Robert Durden, Savannah; and two granddaughters.
A graveside memorial service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Brooklet City Cemetery with the Rev. Matt Cunkel officiating.
