Bernice Marie Latta

Bernice Marie Latta, age 87, of Findlay, and formerly of McComb, died Sunday, February 20, 2011, 10:53 p.m. at Birchaven Care Center.
She was born February 27, 1923 in McComb to Arthur and Elsie (Sands) Went. She married Donald Latta on February 3, 1940 and he died April 2, 1983. She then married Lester Latta on January 27, 1985 and he died December 20, 2001.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Baumlein of Findlay, and Mrs. James (Kay) Lambert of Arcanum, OH. There are 6 grandchildren; Ann (David) Cole, Linette (Dan) Kemner, Alan (Tina) Baumlein, Trent (Angie) Lambert, Travis (Elizabeth) Lambert, Megan (Nathan) Marquardt; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Latta was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Went, and her parents.
Mrs. Latta attended McComb High School. She was the co-owner and manager of the Green Mill Gardens in Findlay for 15 years. She also worked for the McComb Local School district.
She was a member of the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center Auxiliary; Order of the Eastern Star, Deshler Chapter #68, Findlay Ladies Shrine, the Ladies Oriental Shrine, Dendrah Court 10; she was a central committee person for Pleasant Township, and was a former officer of the Hancock County Republican Party's Executive and Central Committee as well as the vice-chairwoman of the Hancock County Executive Committee. Mrs. Latta was a member of the McComb Church of Christ.
Visitation will be on Thursday February 24, 2011, 4-8 p.m. at the HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb.
The funeral service will be on Friday, February 25, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the McComb Church of Christ, with the Revs. Alan Baumleim and Trent Lambert Officiating. Burial will be in McComb Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Church 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
