Henrietta Hargis

DOWNS (PNS) — The funeral of Henrietta Mae Hargis, 78, of 20 Cleveland St., who died Thursday will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Fred Belcher will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Downs.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hargis was born May 27, 1903, in Dwight, a daughter of A. B. and Beulah Wells Cunliffe. She married Ralph Hargis on June 8, 1929, in Bloomington. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Ralph A., Champaign; five daughters, Ruth Stilley, New Castle, Ind., Barbara Richert, Baton Rouge, La., Helen Loper, 1711 Arrowhead Drive Bloomington; Goldie Shierry, 1234 Dogwood Lane, Bloomington, and Becky Rouse, Downs; a brother, A.H. Cunliffe, Chenoa; two sisters, Pauline Nussbaum, 710 N Roosevelt Ave., Bloomington, and Bernice Clawson, Danville; 17 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A son and a brother preceded her in death.

She was a member of Downs United Methodist Church.
