Husband of Pauline (Beard) Rodgers Father of Gaynell Son of Elmer & Menervia G. (Beard) Rodgers, and grandson of Zachariah Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth (Pickett) Beard, and George Alfred and Elvira (Keltner) Rodgers. Brother to Bertha E. Rodgers, Alma Taylor Rodgers, and Vivian Pickett. "Nell" as his family and friends knew him by was a loving christian man. He attended Tarters Chapel United Methodist Church in the Portland area of Adair county Kentucky and was the care taker for the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery from the time it was cleared off in the 1960's up until his death, he spent many countless hours ensuring it was properly cared for. He lived in Kentucky and was a farmer all his life except for the few years he spent in the army in the 1940's stationed in North Carolina and Georgia. While stationed in Georgia in 1949 his fiance Pauline Beard traveled and met him in Ringgold Georgia and were married at the town courthouse. Besides his family and farming he enjoyed bluegrass music and loved to dance. He passed away suddenly at home from a heart attack. Numerous friends and neighbors came together to get his crops in that year for his family after his passing, he is greatly missed.
