Andrew E. Altman

Andrew Everett Altman, 75, of Pear Way died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, at his home.

He was the widower of Vera Elizabeth Bruce Altman.

Mr. Altman was born Nov. 20, 1922, in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Wade and Eliza Rebecca Goude Altman. He was a 12-year employee of McKenzie Funeral Home Inc. and was a retired foreman of the General Yard Division of International Paper Co.'s Georgetown mill. He was a medic in the Army, a member of the Piney Forest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, choir member, Nominating Committee member, and Pastor Search Committee member, and was a member of the Sand Hill Hunting Club.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Altman and Mike Altman, both of Andrews; three daughters, Wanda Cox, Barbara Elliott and Judy Altman, all of Andrews; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 tonight at the Andrews chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Piney Forest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
