ALTOONA, KS — Betty Louise King Calentine, age 82, of Altoona, Kan., passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kan., after a long illness.
Born May 25, 1928, in Hutchinson, Kan., she was the daughter of the late John W. King and Ruth D. Stapleton King, their only child.
She lived in Hutchinson most of her life until moving to be near a daughter in Altoona in 2000.
She retired as a shipping and receiving clerk from Roberts Hutch-Line, Inc. in Hutchinson.
She was a Christian.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Calentine and wife Loretta, of Granite City, Ill., and Ron Calentine and wife Marge, of Diamond, Mo.; four daughters, Judy Johnson and husband Dewayne, of Joplin, Jeanie Doyle and husband Mike, of Joplin, Becky Morgan and husband Tony, of Altoona, and Shari New and husband Allen, of Galena, Kan.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery South of Sarcoxie, Mo., under the direction of Parker Mortuary of Joplin.
