The battles of the 57th: Whitemarsh Island, Cumberland Gap, Kentucky Campaign, Vicksburg Siege, Champion Hill, Atlanta Campaign, Kennesaw Mountain, Jonesboro, Franklin, Nashville, the Carolinas, Bentonville, North Carolina, where they surrendered 26 Apr 1865.
The Battle of Jonesboro was fought August 31, and September 1, 1864. It was the final battle of the Atlanta Campaign, and was the ultimate reason that the city of Atlanta fell into Union hands. Sherman occupied Atlanta 3 Sep 1864.
