Son of John (Dr.) BUSBY 1819–1854 and Mary STORM 1829–? [she remarried to Ebenezer Bell]

Sheridan Lee Busby was a homesteader who came to Montana in 1895 and eventually established the first post office there in 1904 in what would become Busby, Montana.

He had three marriages: to Orma Joseph which ended in divorce, to Emma Janette Edwards, and finally to Sevilla Thompson who preceded him in death. He was a successful wool farmer in Montana. As a widower, he then became a merchant who traveled to places such as Hawaii, Shanghai China, Australia and Canada. On one occasion, he spent about six weeks in Shanghai China in 1930. He eventually made his home in Honolulu where he lived for about 24 years and was actively involved in helping the local government address unemployment. He remained a merchant until age 79 based on the ship manifests available.

The town of Busby is located in southeast Montana, on the northwest edge of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Busby, Montana is located in the county of Sheridan.

His daughter Irene appears to have continued his business based on her international travel.
