Mildred was born Feb. 15, 1922 in Rush County, the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Bertha (Miller) Hood. Mildred married Paul A. Noel July 26, 1940 and he preceded her in death April 14, 1989.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cleaning homes for more than 50 years. She also enjoyed family, yard work, making pies and shopping. She attended St. Mary School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 89 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Rod) Geis of Connersville and Frances (Paul) Marshall of Rushville; two sons, Larry (Anita) Noel and Mark Noel (companion Linda Langley), both of Rushville; one brother, Tony Hood of Connersville; two sisters, Roseann Adkins of Knightstown and Theresa Noah of Milton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Bob; an infant brother; and two sisters, Rita Benjamin and Agnes Florence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville with the Rev. Joseph Reidman officiating.
Burial will follow in Rushville's Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory in Rushville, with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral center.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or St. Mary Catholic Church.
