TREADWELL -- James D., born in Ashland, AL, April 7, 1921, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007. James moved to Muskogee with his family at the age of 7, where he lived until after graduating from high school and then going on to attend Oklahoma A&M College, until World War II. He Served his country in the Air Force as a Radar-Navigator-Bombardier in the 15th Air Force, where he received the Bronze Star with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After World War II, he returned to Oklahoma A&M graduating in 1947. He was employed by Dowell fox 30 years, before retiring in 1982. He was an active Methodist layman and member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, having served on many boards on a Local, District and Conference level until ill health prevailed. He is survived by: his wife, Mary Sue (Susie) of 62 years; a daughter-in-law, Pam Treadwell, Muskogee; a grandson, Major Trey Treadwell, U.S. Air Force and his wife, Marianne of Haymarket, VA; a granddaughter, Aimee and her husband, Brian Karnes and their children, Lauren and Brenley Karnes, Fort Gibson; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Harlyn and Gene Treadwell, Springdale, AR; a brother-in-law, Robert Lamons, Tulsa; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by: his son, Jim Treadwell in 2000; and a sister, Evelyn Lamons in 2002. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Landscape Fund of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2007, at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church, Tulsa. Moore's Rosewood Chapel, 744-1202.
