Floyd is a World War II Navy Veteran. NARA confirmed his Veteran status. Because of the archive fire in the 1970's his record was lost. As I understand it he pulled most of his active duty as a Navy Shore Patrolman, & as a Guard at military facilities. Because of this experiences in the Navy he had background & expereince to be a Prison Guard at the state penitentiary at Joliett Prison. He retired about 1973 from the Illinois Prison system after serving over 20 years. Floyd is my 1st Cousin 3 Times Removed to me. He is also my Step-Grandfather. Daisy & Floyd had no children & were married for 44 yrs. before they went back home to the Lord's house.
