Alcy Taylor Shuffield, 81, loving husband, father and grandfather, was born May 9, 1910 in Cameron, Texas to Alcy and Allie Shuffield and died Thursday, January 20, 1992. He had been a residence of Houston since 1927. He was a member of Local #450, Operators International Union for 41 years.

He is survived by his wife of 58½ years, Ava Wooding Shuffield; son and daughter-in-law, A. T. Shuffield, Jr. and Virginia of Georgetown; daughters, Ava Mae Sanders and husband, Arther Lee of Austin, Betty Gardner of Houston and Shirley Brown of Conroe; two sisters, Alma Halliburton of Houston and Azell Barbo of Nacogdoches; six granddaughters, ten grandsons, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 1992 at the First Baptist Church of Spring Branch, 1610 Campbell Rd. with Pastor Brother hasslar officiating.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dale, Jody, Alan, Dewayne (Scooter), Jym, Patrick, Jason and Adin.
