Mary Eanes
Died Saturday, November 17, 2007
The funeral for Mary Lee Strait Eanes, 88, formerly of Ridgeway, who died Nov. 17, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.
She was born in Martinsville on Nov. 4, 1919, to John Roy Sr. and Nannie Mae Spencer Strait.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Andrew Frye; her second husband, Justus D. "Pete" Eanes; three brothers, Paul Strait, Roy Strait Jr. and Raymond Strait; two sisters, Edna S. Draper and Ruth S. Jamerson; and two grandchildren.
She was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church and attended Rich Acres Baptist Church. She retired from Sara Lee in Martinsville.
Surviving are one son, Gerald A. Frye of Centre, Ala.; three daughters, Estelle E. Meadows of Henry, Rita E. Watson of Martinsville and Yvonne Frye Weitz of Montgomery, Texas; one sister, Polly S. Gibbs of Collinsville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
