Funeral services were held for Joe Harris Swinson at Mother Zion Baptist Church in Wharton Wednesday. Interment was in Paradise Cemetery in Kendleton, with Gooden Morticians in charge and the Rev. Louis Greer delivering the eulogy.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Clara Swinson of Wharton; three sisters, Mrs. Kathlyn McDonald of Richmond, Mrs. Frances Braxton of Kentleton, and Miss Georgie Belle Swinson of Richmond; two daughters, Little Jo Ann Swinson of Wharton and Mrs. Josie Belle Butler of Houston; one son, Joe Swinson Jr. of Los Angeles; three grandchildren, Donald Ross of Los Angeles, Craige Braxton of Kendleton, and Rennie Butler of Houston; and one grandson, Rodney Braxton of Kendleton.
