A. M. EVITT Believed Despondent Over Ill Health.
LaFayette, Georgia. March 25---(Special).
Believed despondent over continued ill health.
A. M. EVITT, 55, well-to-do farmer of Walker county, jumped into a barn lot well early Wednesday morning. he was dead when discovered by members of the family about 6 o'clock.
MR. EVITT was a pioneer citizen of this county and said to be in comfortable financial circumstances. His health had been bad for the past few weeks, and this is believed to have been the cause of his act.
Mr. EVITT is survived by his wife. two daughters, MRS. CHARLES ROGERS of Chattanooga, and MRS. JIM ABNEY of Alabama; three sons, LEE and EVERITT EVITT of LaFayette, and MAR EVITT of Florida.
MRS. EVITT and LEE were to have left Tuesday at midnight for Alabama, where MRS. JIM ABNEY is to undergo an operation. MR. EVITT is believed to have gone to the barnyard well after this time and removed the concrete cover to jump in. Funeral services have not been announced.
