June G. Coulter
East Main Presbyterian member worked in school cafeteria

June G. Coulter, a resident for 54 years of Rainey Avenue, Grove City, passed away after an extended illness at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in Slippery Rock Personal Care Home, Ralston Road, Slippery Rock, where she lived for the past five years. She was 90.

Mrs. Coulter was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Branchton, Butler County, to Thomas George McCandless and Clara Myrtle Hockenberry McCandless.

She attended and graduated from Slippery Rock High School.

Mrs. Coulter retired from Grove City Area School District, where she was a baker for 10 years in the school cafeteria.

June was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

Her husband, Clyde M. Coulter, whom she married Feb. 20, 1942, passed away Sept. 29, 2006.

Surviving are two sisters, Esther Louise Eller and her husband Donald, Erie; and Kathryn Evelyn Hockenberry, Clintonville, Pa.; a brother, Kenneth McCandless and his wife Vona, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Besides her husband, June was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Elizabeth Patterson and Clara Myrtle Coulter; and six brothers, Madison, James, George, Howard, Cecil and Woodrow McCandless.

Memorial contributions may be made in June's memory to Grove City Community Library (for Children's programs), 125 W. Main St., Grove City, PA 16127.

Calling hours: Noon to time of service Saturday (2-19-11) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Funka, associate pastor of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City, officiating.

Interment: Union Home Cemetery, Wolf Creek Township.
