He was born on June 28, 1924 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Jesse Ray Fry and the late Pansy Marie Goodnite Fry.
He was a United Sates Navy World War II veteran and awarded a Purple Heart. He was a 55 year member of the American Legion Post 140. He was also a lifetime member of the Broad Run Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Mary Estella Fry of New Haven; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Joe & Charlene Fry and Mel & Mary Fry all of New Haven; Granddaughter and her husband, Melanie & Jason Ryen of Parkersburg, WV; granddaughter, Andrea Fry of Columbus, Ohio; great grandson, Heath Ryen of Parkersburg; brother, Harry Ray Fry of New Haven; aunt, Sybil MacKnight of Letart, WV; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joann Taylor, Patty Paugh, Ken & Sharon Vickers,Robert & Peggy Harless, Harry Knapp, and Herman & Alice Knapp and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Fry.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 12, 2003 at 11am at Anderson Funeral Home with Pastor George Wierick, Pastor David Russell, and Pastor Mike Finnicum officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery where the American Legion Post 140 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9926 will conduct Military Funeral Honors.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
