Bessie Cole was born 2/19/1912 in Zalma, Missouri to Abyron and Carrie (Moore) Cole. A couple of years after her birth her parents moved to Newcastle Wyoming where they homesteaded some land - where she grew up. She married Dewey Bofman in Deadwood North Dakota on 25 Jan 1934. They had a total of 7 children, the first only live a couple of days, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. They moved to Missouri around 1949 where her husband ran a sawmill milling lumber along the Missouri River until he retired in 1962. Some of the smaller towns that they lived in was Percival, Iowa, Nishnabotna, Missouri, Rulo, Nebraska, and Nemaha, Nebraska. In 1962 she moved with her husband to Sunnyside, Washington where she lived until her death in 2002. She loved going to church, cooking, caning, gardening, her flowers, but most of all she loved being around little children (nothing would put a smile on her face like a little child).
