Hamlin - Hollis Dwaine Stephens, Sr., 80, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Abilene.
Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Donny Harbers officiating.
Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home.
Born May 2, 1925, in Silverton, Dwaine was a son of the late Dutch and Opal (Whitehead) Stephens.
He attended school in Tuxedo and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1942.
Dwaine was a veteran of the United States Army, and married Ernestine Jenkins, December 21, 1945, in Stamford. She preceded him in death May 21, 1989.
Dwaine was a farmer, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
One brother Tex Stark, preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Hollis and Susan Stephens of Hamlin; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and John Thomas of Abilene; special friend, Renee Hymer of Hamlin; two brothers - Lee Stephens and Kenneth Stark; one sister- Shirley Watson; 9 grandchildren - Buckey Stephens and wife Brandy, Annie Gamble and husband Blaine, Whitney Stephens Trey Stephens, Shelley Chorn and husband Chris, Matthew Connally, Mark Connally and wife Lindi, Scott Thomas and wife Shanna, and Todd Thomas and wife LaGina; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Bethesda, Maryland.
Visitation will be 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Friday, March 31, 2006, at Adams Funeral home.
