"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was 72, a retired employee of Kaiser Aluminum of Baton Rouge and Larouche Chemical, Gramercy. He was a native of Grayson and a longtime resident of Baker. He moved to Zachary in 1999. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Zachary, a master mason in the Baker chapter of the Fraternal Order of Masons and was a founding member of the Baker Bass Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Virgil and Nettie Frances Anderson; and a sister, Myrtle Faye Anderson Hebert.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beatrice Rucker Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, Benny G. and Toni Wilson-Anderson of Shilo, Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda A. and Ronald Rester of Zachary; grandchildren, Lea Alice Anderson and husband Jason Waxley, Beth Anderson and husband David Mills, Jeremiah Anderson, Randy and wife Dawn Reno Verrett and Charles Verrett, all of Zachary; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Trabeau, Alice Waxley, Craig Waxley and Nathan and Ryan Verrett, all of Zachary; and nieces and nephew, Sharon Duncan Fortenberry and Mike and Denise Cameron Hebert, all of Zachary.

Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 13, from noon until memorial service at 2 p.m. There will be a private graveside service on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Anderson, David Mills, Charles Verrett, Randy Verrett, Jason Waxley and Mike Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Noland, Ron Rester, Warren Perry, Charlie Crittendon and Bud Sutton.

The family would like to thank the family, friends and neighbors who have supported him during his illness. We would also like to express a special thanks to Dr. Hanson, Dr. Johnson, Gigi and the staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Memorial donations may be sent to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 4950 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
