Mrs. Peter Hoffman, aged 70 years, seven months and 21 days, passed away Sunday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.A. Spencer. She had been ill for days, having suffered a stroke last week.
Catherine Collins was born May 15, 1865, at Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. She attended the public and parochial schools. On May 25, 1897, she was united in marriage to Peter Hoffman at Stratford. They resided at Wabeno, Laona and Fond du Lac. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A.E. Wenzel of Green Bay and Mrs. E.A. Spencer of Crandon. One child died in infancy. She also left two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bachman of Mosinee, Mrs. Mary Akey of Merrill; two brothers, John Collins of Wausau and Charles Collins of Hinkley, Minn.
Funeral services were held yesterday morning from St. Joseph's church, with Father George Beth officiating. The pall-bearers were Jos. Honzik, George Lamble, Jesse Ramsdale, Iver Breman of Wabeno, and F.P. Aschenbrenner and Wenzel Aschenbrenner, both of Laona. Burial was in the Crandon cemetery.
