Dau. of William Cook and Jane "Jincy" (McBride) Cook. [DNA results have proven tradition of maiden name being Hawkins to be in error.] Her first child was Emily Amanda Cook, born when she was 15, to a man named Dunihue, or Donahue, (who became a successful Bedford merchant), whom her parents would not allow her to marry. (One of her great-granddaughters through Emily was for many years a professor of economics at IU). In 1839 she became the 2nd wife of Hiram Allen, (1810-1845), by whom she had at least 3 children. (One being the grandmother of US District Judge John Simpson Hastings.) Her final marriage was to William A Wilson, who was 11 years younger. Tradition holds that she wouldn't accept his hand in marriage until he improved his reading skills, neglected as he'd started working at a young age, delaying their union by several years.

Her sister Rosanna (Cook) Jeter and brother William W Cook are buried in the Green Hill Cem., in Bedford, Lawrence Co., IN. Her brother Samuel is in the Mitchell City Cem., Mitchell, Lawrence Co., IN. Her brother Willis is in the Evans Memorial Park, Raglesville, Daviess Co., IN. Other siblings
were Elizabeth (Cook) Brown, b.abt 1815, and Janet Hawkins (Cook) Aikman Wells, 1818-aft.1860.

Her maternal grandparents were William McBride, and Kezia Cockerham of Surry Co., NC. Her uncle Samuel McBride and aunt Mary (McBride)
Patterson are also buried in Liberty Cemetery.

DNA evidence proves that the mother of Keziah; her sister Rosemary;
and her brother Willis was Jane (McBride) Cook, daughter of William McBride and Kezia Cockerham. However it's possible that the mother
of these three children's younger siblings was someone else.
