Eva Marie Stockard Griggs of Waynesboro, TN was born August 12, 1921 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Clifford Lee and Ina Louella Lay Stockard. She was united in marriage to James Quinton Griggs on September 30, 1938 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2008.

Mrs. Griggs was a homemaker but had worked at Clifton Manufacturing and was the oldest member of the Waynesboro Church of God having joined the church on September 16, 1945. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed working in her garden.

Mrs. Griggs departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 9 Months, 14 Days.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Stone of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Travis Wilford Griggs and wife, Sue, of Lawrenceburg, TN, Leroy Griggs of Waynesboro, TN, Allen Griggs and wife, Ann, of Manchester, TN, Charles Griggs of Lawrenceburg, TN, Marlin Griggs and wife, Corinne, of Hartselle, AL; 14 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, 5 Great- great-grandchildren; brothers, Edmond Stockard of Nashville, TN, Harvel Stockard of Columbia, TN; sisters, Grace Agner, Bertha Haddock, and Elsie Cothran all of Nashville, TN, Pauline Kilburn of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Griggs was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Junior Stone; a brother, Robert Stockard; sisters, Mamie Dixon, Lou Ella Andrews, Dorothy Jo Clay.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Laverne Griggs and Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Lee Griggs, Tim Griggs, Austin Griggs, David Griggs, Shandon Griggs, Jeff Stockard, Doyle Stone and Troy Stone.
