Farris was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene since 1996 and prior to that was a founding member of St. Paul Church of the Nazarene. Farris attended school in DeSoto, MO and served in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1970 before being honorably discharged; he then went to work at Braden Steel were he worked for 31 years, before retiring in 2002. Farris also worked with his son for two years in construction. He enjoyed his grandchildren and helping others. Farris was a kind, gentle Christian man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with an unwavering heart. Farris embraced his family and friends with an unconditional love, that was demonstrated with a servant's heart. They will have Farris "Darwin" in their hearts forever.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, LaVeda; his two children, son and wife, daughter and husband; four grandchildren; and two sisters.
Visitation hours will be from 12 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, May 5, 2006. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Central Church of the Nazarene, 7291 E. 81st., Tulsa, with a graveside service 1 p.m., at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
