Bertha Ann Holland Anderson, 76, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009 at her home. Born in Daviess County on November 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Richard W. and Lydia (Crowe) Holland. Mrs. Anderson; was a cook at Gabe's Restaurant for 20 years and retired from Bon Harbor Nursing Home; and was a member of Apollo Heights Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Candy Kaye Anderson; a grandson, Christopher Shawn Anderson; and a brother, Richard Holland Jr. and sisters, Verda Mae Holland, and Gloria Dean Rezac. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed embroidering, had many pen pals, and was a U.K. and Tiger Woods fan.


Surviving are sons, David (Anna) Anderson, Robert (Rita) Anderson, Jr and Erie Anderson all of Owensboro, and John (Joella) Anderson of Madisonville; daughters, Athena (Byron) Aubrey, Patricia (Tom) Weaver, Joyce (Richard) Mohler, and Lois (Earl) Williams all of Owensboro; 20 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred (Bill) Weil of Terre Haute, IN.

Services are 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jerry Carter officiating followed by burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
